Hi everyone,
We have a lot of home matches this week so we are encouraging everyone to come down early/stay after their games to support the next team playing. We hope to have a refreshment stand going so it would be great if people could bake/bring down some treats please!
**Social Update**
It is with careful consideration that we have decided to POSTPONE the annual Christmas party on 11th. We hope to be able to hold it in late January. With the current numbers and with it being so close to Christmas, we feel it would be best practice to postpone an indoor club wide event.
However, we would still like to organise a Christmas hockey tournament outdoors with teams from mens/ladies and vets teams before the Christmas break. To gauge interest in this event and to help us make plans for socials in the New Year please complete this form as soon as possible:https://forms.office.com/r/Wp4UyfxrVX
**Reminder to follow Covid-19 guidelines**
The following is some guidance we've received from Leinster regarding games and Covid-19:
"Hockey is an outdoor, non-contact sport and to date in any covid cases in clubs, teammates have not been considered close contacts where all activity is kept outdoors. In relation to Covid, generally, players should only be missing games if;
- Player has covid
- Player in 5-day isolation due to Covid case in household
- Player has covid symptoms and is awaiting a PCR Test or the result of a PCR test
If you are feeling unwell we urge you to follow the HSE guidelines. We are attaching here the Isolation quick guide, updated 24th November, HSE guide on Restricting movements.If someone is awaiting PCR Test results then clubs/teams need to prepare if the result is positive to make arrangements to sub-up etc. We can all see what the loss of a season has done to clubs, players just simply lost the habit of going to training, playing matches. We are just beginning to get back into the swing of things, 6 weeks into the season so we would be of the view to try to keep that momentum going and try to get teams to play matches by subbing up. We need you to manage your players and sub-up if teams are missing players due to covid."
