Hi All!
I still can't believe that I'm able to type that subject line and that we are in fact about to finally get properly back to hockey!
The club is at an exciting stage. Following both AGM's (Ladies and Men's) we have agreed in principle to merge the two individual clubs and become Rathgar HC. Shortly I will be emailing out dates of an EGM to both men and ladies to officially change the constitution etc.
The club has partnered with CLUBZAP as hosts for all our communication including a new look website. Please bear with us as the website continues to be populated. All current information will be on the website, ClubZap app, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. To ensure that we are COVID compliant and have clear contact tracing you MUST download the ClubZap app and JOIN Rathgar Hockey Club.
Very Important Information:
1. Download ClubZap
2. Join Rathgar Hockey Club
3. Allow notifications
4. Go to 'chat' and join 'PRE-SEASON LADIES HOCKEY'
5. For each training session or match you will receive an invitation to 'train' or 'match;
6. This MUST be filled in by a Sunday evening (this week is an exception)
7. You must fill in the Irish hockey covid form (you will not be allowed on the pitch otherwise)
8. When you come to training you will be checked in using this app - if you're not on the list you will be unable to play
High School are relaying the smaller pitch. As such we will be operating on one pitch for the month of August.
Training Times are as follows:
MONDAY:
3/4s - 6:30-8pm
1/2s - 7:30- 9pm
WEDNESDAY
1/2s - 6:30-8pm
3/4s - 7:30-9pm
There are 30 minutes where we overlap. At this time we will be doing fitness/ close skills to ensure safety and spacing on the pitch. For the 2nd session please use the first 10 minutes to warm up and
then fitness will be for the last 20minutes.
In my next email, I will introduce the new committee. We are still looking for Junior coaches and a Junior Co-ordinator should you know anyone who would like to support the club. Both are paid positions.
So...with all that being said we are BACK TO TRAINING this coming Wednesday the 4th. We are still only allowed 15 in each pod so please ensure that you are on ClubZap and that you reply to the invite that I will be sending this evening. IF you have any problems please reply to this email.
If you are new to the club and are experienced please come to the 1/2 session, otherwise, if you're new or haven't picked a stick up in a while please join 3/4s. Teams will not be decided on till we start the league and there will be plenty of movement throughout the season, there are no closed teams at all.
I am delighted to announce that we have a full coaching panel:
Ladies 1s - Zach Waters
Ladies 2s - David Meade
Ladies 3s - Louis Murphy
Ladies 4s - Ollie Kean
Goalie Coach (Every MONDAY) - Brian Cleary
In the next email we will discuss:
1. Membership
2. Committee
3. Socials
I can't wait to see you all on Wednesday!
All the best,
Emma Beamish
Ladies Club Captain
